We have returned tired but immensly refreshed and energised from our Group Training Weekend which was held at a private location in the South East of the country. The advance party arrived on Friday evening and set up camp in a secluded location bordered by a small river on two sides and with excellent approach cover from the east and south. Saturday commenced with an early Appel and a uniform and kit inspection conducted by the Oberfeld. and Unteroffizier Werner. Training commenced with a discussion on German Tactical Doctrine, in defence and in attack, along with practical discussion on recce, offensive and clearing patrols. Of course, none of this makes much sense in the absence of practice so a number of recce and clering patrols were dispatched to secure the immediate area and establish the boundary of the Kompanie Zone of Control. A number of tactical scenarios were conducted and the day ended with evening Appel and the distribution of Feld Post for the troops! Many thanks to our new Feldwebel Arzt. for securing the valuable cargo! Everyone received some item of comfort from home along with letters and pictures. Kompanie orders were then read out and awards presented. Congratulations to O/Gefr. Griger on the award of his EK2 for bravery in recent combat at Beltring and to Jager Buckholz on the award of his Luftwaffe Ground Combat Badge! A delicious and authentic goulash was provided by U/Feld. Koenigstein. Sunday again commenced with Appel and honing of tactical skills. The weekend finished all too early at lunchtime on Sunday and it was time to return to normality! Pictures and video will follow! Horrido!! Add Comment |
