FJR6 Veterans, L to R:
Heinrich Lauffert, Alexander, Gunther Prignitz
Our aim is to accurately portray soldiers of Germany’s élite Fallschirmjäger and, in particular, members of Fallschirmjäger Regiment 6 who fought in Normandy from June, 1944.
We insist on absolute authenticity in terms of Uniform, Field Equipment, Weapons, Personal Equipment and Operations.
Uniform and Equipment Suppliers are specially selected for their adherence to detail and accuracy and standards are rigorously maintained.
It also helps if you can speak a little German!
In order to maintain this high level we organize training weekends with our friends and attend events in Ireland, the United Kingdom and Europe.
We participate in Public Shows, Ceremonial Events and Private Events and have taken part in Film and TV work.
Membership is limited and prospective applicants are subject to the same high standards.
In June, 2008 members of 13/FJR6 were honoured to attend the first significant Fallschirmjager Re-enactment in Normandy at the inconic Deadman's Corner, which was the site of the FJR6 Regimental and III Battalion Command Post and later Regimental Aid Station in June, 1944.
We were honoured to have the company of veterans of FJR6 (Heinrich Lauffert, Gunther Prignitz) who were delighted to be back at their old Command Post and gave a stirring rendition of Rot Scheint Die Sonne!
A poignant reminder of the futility of war was the meeting between Harry, a Red Devil who jumped at Arnhem and Alexander, a Green Devil who defended the position at Carentan.
