We have returned tired but immensly refreshed and energised from our Group Training Weekend which was held at a private location in the South East of the country.
The advance party arrived on Friday evening and set up camp in a secluded location bordered by a small river on two sides and with excellent approach cover from the east and south.
Saturday commenced with an early Appel and a uniform and kit inspection conducted by the Oberfeld. and Unteroffizier Werner.  Training commenced with a discussion on German Tactical Doctrine, in defence and in attack, along with practical discussion on recce, offensive and clearing patrols.  Of course, none of this makes much sense in the absence of practice so a number of recce and clering patrols were dispatched to secure the immediate area and establish the boundary of the Kompanie Zone of Control.
A number of tactical scenarios were conducted and the day ended with evening Appel and the distribution of Feld Post for the troops!  Many thanks to our new Feldwebel Arzt. for securing the valuable cargo!
Everyone received some item of comfort from home along with letters and pictures.
Kompanie orders were then read out and awards presented.
Congratulations to O/Gefr. Griger on the award of his EK2 for bravery in recent combat at Beltring and to Jager Buckholz on the award of his Luftwaffe Ground Combat Badge! A delicious and authentic goulash was provided by U/Feld. Koenigstein.
Sunday again commenced with Appel and honing of tactical skills.
The weekend finished all too early at lunchtime on Sunday and it was time to return to normality!
Pictures and video will follow!
Horrido!!

As our August Training Weekend approaches, preparations continue apace.
We will be conducting Training in an area which has been recce'd by our very own Feld.Arzt. Dr. VonH.  Initial reports are that this area is eerily similar to Normandy Bocgae and contains a small river; a stone bridge; an abandoned house and a wooded area which will accomodate the Kompanie CP.
Training will be conducted in a highy authentic fashion and will closely resemble FJR6 manoeuvers in the days leading up to the Invasion.
We look forward to working with our colleagues from the WHLA FJ Kompanie 12 again!
Stay tuned for more pictures and possibly some video following the event.

Photos from the War and Peace SHow, Beltring UK have been added in the Media 2010 section.

A big word of thanks to our Kameraden in FJR6 (UK) for their hospitality and great credit to Steve for his magnificent bunker!  We hope to have the entire group in attendance next year!!

9/FJR6 will take part in a private battle on the weekend of 28th August at a private venue in Wexford.
The Battle will recreate the events surrounding the first battle for Caen and in particular, the initial contacts between the UK 7th Armoured Division and KG Furbach.
The Kampfgruppe comprises elements of LSSAH, FJR3 and Pz Lehr Division.
The structure of the weekend has been worked out and will involve a purely tactical event over 36 hours and should provide some excellent front line experience.
Photos and video will follow and we will post more detail as the event draws nearer!

Horrido!

Welcome to our Re-organised Site; the home of 9 Kompanie, III Battalion, Fallshirmjager Regiment 6!  The aim of this site is to give the visitor a flavour of what we do in portraying the men of Germany's Elite Fallshirmjager in action in North West Europe prior to and following the Allied Invasion of Europe in June, 1944.
Our members are volunteers with a keen interest in Living History and come from all walks of life!
We hope you enjoy your visit and come back soon as the site is regularly updated!

On Saturday 26th June we attended a Militaria Fair at Gorey, Wexford organised by our good friend Canon Mark Hayden.
As it was primarily a Militaria Fair, we provided a small static display with a selection of weapons and equipment in use by FJ units in Normandy.
The weather was fantastic and the crowds friendly....what more could you expect on a beautiful summer's day!!
There are some photos on the 2010 Media Page!

Duncannon 2010 06/05/2010

This year's Duncannon Show was as good as ever and the weather played its part for the third year in a row!
We were accompanied by two of out friends from F.J.R.6 (UK) who thoroughly enjoyed themselves in this their first Irish outing.
The battle took place on Saturday and provided a fine spectacle for the crowd in attendance - there are some excellent shots on the 2010 Media Page.
This year allowed us to unveil our blank firing FG42 - a unique movie prop which operates just like the original and produces a magnificent sound!
We portrayed Normandy '44 on Saturday and the Italian Campaign on Sunday.
It was great to meeet so many friends once again and the time seems to pass so quickly!
Roll on Duncannon 2011!
